Terms And Conditions - Rental of Personal Mobility Devices

Rental of Personal Mobility Devices is subject to the terms and conditions in the following rental contract, which will need to be signed by the customer at the point of rental.

THE FOLLOWING IS A WARNING, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) BETWEEN THE RENTER (hereinafter collectively referred to as I) AND SKATELINE.

1. INDEMNITY AND RELEASE. I agree to indemnify Skateline, defend Skateline and hold Skateline harmless from all claims, liability, costs and legal fees I incur resulting from, or arising out of, this rental and my use of the Device.  
2. IDENTIFICATION AND RESPONSIBILITY. I acknowledge that riding the Device can be a hazardous activity that involves risks that may cause injury to myself or others and may be fatal to myself or others. I willingly agree to assume all risks included in the activity. I will not leave the rental premises until I have been fully briefed and completely understand how to properly operate the Device. I agree to allow Skateline to retain an image of my Passport / NRIC as proof of identify. I understand that I must be above 18 years of age to rent a Device.
3. PROPER USE. I will use the Device in a careful and proper manner, and I will comply with all laws and traffic regulations of Singapore. I have been offered a helmet and have been advised to wear the helmet at all times while riding the Device.
4. LIMITATIONS OF USE. I will only ride the Device on pedestrian pavements and tracks on which the Device is permitted on. I will not ride the Device on public or private roads for cars and other motor vehicles. I will observe the maximum riding speed of 15km/hr on shared pavements with pedestrians. I will not use the Device to carry passengers, and I will not permit any other person to operate the Device. I will not make any alterations to the Device or remove any parts from the Device.
5. CONDITION OF VEHICLE. I have inspected the Device before leaving the rental premises.  Unless I give written notice to SKATELINE on the VEHICLE CHECK OUT FORM specifying any defect in or other proper objection to the Device, I agree that it will be conclusively presumed that I have fully inspected and acknowledged that the Device is in good condition.
6. MECHANICAL FAILURES. I acknowledge that flat tires and any mechanical failure are an inherent risk of riding, and agree to bear the costs of repairs and replacements from such incidents. I understand there is no reimbursement for loss of use to me arising from such incidents.
7. VEHICLE RESCUE/RECOVERY. I understand that Skateline does not provide rescue/recovery and I am responsible for returning the Device to the rental premises.
8. CONDITION AND RETURN OF VEHICLE.  I will return the Device to Skateline’s rental office or other location specified by Skateline, on the date and time specified in this Agreement, and in the same condition that I received it.
9. RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS.  I will be responsible for all damage to, or loss or theft of, the Device, including damage caused by weather, road conditions and acts of nature, whether or not I am at fault. I agree to pay Skateline an amount at the sole discretion of Skateline not exceeding 80% of the prevailing retail price of the Device as sold at Skateline to cover the cost of repairs, replacements or loss of use to Skateline.
10. ACCIDENT, THEFT AND VANDALISM. I will report all accidents or incidents of theft and vandalism involving the Device to Skateline and the police as soon as I discover them. I agree to pay Skateline 100% of the prevailing retail price of the Device as sold at Skateline in the case the Device is lost or stolen.
11. EXTENSION IN ADVANCE. I understand that if I wish to extend the rental period, I will contact Skateline by phone prior to the deadline to request an extension, which I understand may or may not be granted based on availability.
12. LATE FEES. Any Device returned 15 minutes or more after the rental period will be considered an additional day of rental. I agree to pay a penalty of $48 if a next customer reservation is delayed as a result of my late return.
13. REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS. I understand there is absolutely no cancellation or refunds on paid reservations, early returns or bad weather.

JURISDICTION. This Agreement is governed by the laws of Singapore, and the Parties submit to its exclusive jurisdiction in the matter of any disputes.
