Terms and Conditions: Inline Skating Lessons and Skate Camps

General Terms and Conditions

The following conditions apply to all lessons. Further Terms and Conditions specific to each lesson type applies.

Lesson duration
  • Unless otherwise indicated, each lesson duration is one hour.
Purchase of Lessons
  • Vacancies for lessons are limited and subject to availability.
  • Skateline Skateschool allocates lesson vacancies in a first-come-first-serve manner based on payment.
Protective gear
  • It is mandatory to wear protective gear (approved helmet, wrist, elbow and knee pads) during a lesson.
  • Complimentary skates and protective gear are provided to the Participant for the duration of a lesson.
Postponement of lessons by Skateline Skateschool
  • Skateline Skateschool may postpone a lesson in anticipation or upon observation of wet weather, poor air quality or other factors that may have an adverse effect on the safety of participants or instructors at its sole discretion. 
  • In such cases, Skateline Skateschool will endeavour to notify students with as much advance notice as practicable. 
  • Skateline Skateschool seeks the understanding of the Participant that it may not always be possible for Skateline Skateschool to notify the Participant before the Participant begins the commute to the lesson venue.
Postponement of lessons by Participant
  • When necessary, the Participant can request for the postponement of lesson. This must be done at least 3 business days before the lesson date. Postponements cannot be made less than 3 business days from lesson commencement date because instructors will have been assigned based on student enrolment.
  • For Skate Camp, no postponement or change of date/time is allowed once payment has been made.
Non-attendance of lesson
  • There is strictly no replacement or refund for lessons not attended by a Participant.
  • In the case a Participant fails to attend a lesson because of illness, a replacement lesson can be arranged only if the Participant presents a valid medical certificate (MC) that coincides with the date of the lesson.

    Lesson-Specific Terms and Conditions

    The following conditions apply for each respective lesson type. In cases which they conflict with the General Terms and Conditions, the Specific Terms and Conditions will supersede the General Terms and Conditions.

    Inline-FunStart
    • Student group size: Up to 6 students per instructor

    Small Group / Family Group
    • All lessons for the Small/Family Group (“Group”) takes place weekly on the same agreed day of week and time.
    • Each set of four lessons must be completed within two months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.
    • Each set of eight lessons must be completed within three months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.
    • Each set of twelve lessons must be completed within four months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.
    • In the case that some Participants in a Group fails to attend a lesson, the Participant(s) absent is considered to have forfeited the lesson. This is illustrated by the following example: A Group consists of participants X, Y and Z. X and Y attends a lesson, while Z is absent. Z is considered to have forfeited the lesson.
    Open Group
    • All lessons take place weekly on the same agreed day of week and time.
    • The Participant should renew lessons early to secure the Participant's desired lesson time(s). It is the Participant's responsibility to renew lessons while vacancy is available. 
    • Lessons are conducted in groups of up to six Participants per instructor.
    • Each set of four lessons must be completed within two months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.
    • Each set of eight lessons must be completed within three months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.
    • Each set of twelve lessons must be completed within four months from the date of the first lesson in the set. Lessons not completed within this time will be forfeited.

    Skateline Holiday Skate Camp for Juniors (“Skate Camp”)
    • A Camp refers to a set of 3 sessions conducted weekly at the same day of week and time.
    • The Participant's parent / guardian may be required to assist the Participant if requested by the instructor.
    • Once a Camp has been purchased, no change of date or time is allowed.
    • If the Participant chooses to cancel a Camp after payment has been made, 50% of the Camp fee is payable. A cancellation in this manner is only possible only if the Participant has not attended any session.
    • If any Camp session is cancelled by Skateline Skateschool, a Skateline Skateschool Lesson Voucher  will be issued to the participant as a replacement for the cancelled session. The Voucher can be used to purchase future Camps or lessons.
    • If a Participant misses a Camp session due to illness, a Skateline Skateschool Voucher  will be issued to the Participant as a replacement for the missed session only if the Participant presents a valid medical certificate that coincides with the date of the session missed.
    • The Skateline Skateschool Learn-To-Skate program booklet will not be issued during Camps.
    • A Camp will only commence if the minimum required number of Participants (“Min Pax”) for a Camp is met. 
    • In the case a Camp does not meet Min Pax, Participant who have paid for the affected Camp will be offered a place in an alternative Camp. If no suitable alternative Camp is available, the Participant will receive three Skateline Skateschool Lesson Vouchers that can be used for purchase of future inline-skating lessons and camps.
